Carmella Bell (nee MacLean) of Toronto, Ontario passed peacefully in her sleep on April 11, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Toronto. Born March 14, 1948, in Sydney, Nova Scotia, she was predeceased by her parents, Sadie (Sarah Anne MacNeil) and Matt (Matthias) MacLean of Sydney, NS and her sister Kay (Lionel) MacDonald of Lake Echo, NS. She is survived by her children, Robert (Fabiola Reyes) of Managua, Nicaragua, Jeffrey (Andrea Lloyd) of Vancouver, BC, Brian of Waterdown, ON and Heather (David Elias) of Toronto, ON, and her siblings Anne Marie Campbell (John) of Sydney, NS, Johnnie (Elaine) MacLean of Rine’s Creek, NS, Donnie (Linda) MacLean of Cole Harbour, NS and Rose MacLean of Sydney, NS. She is also survived by her favourite people, her grandchildren - Matthew Bell, Daphne Bell, Tessa Bell, Ethan Elias, Elizabeth Elias & Brian Navarro. She will be missed by her many nieces & nephews as well as many friends.

Carmella spent her working days as a registered nurse and enjoyed helping the many babies that came into her care at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital where she spent most of her career. Her retirement was well spent nurturing her two grandchildren in Toronto.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church (1701 Bloor Street W. Toronto) on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 11 AM.
