In Celebration of

Calvin Willis Chubb

April 30, 1945 -  February 16, 2017

Courage and a big smile was with Cal until the end of life. No matter the obstacle he always said “I live on Thanksgiving Street not Grumble Corner.” He was a beloved and devoted husband to Lynda his wife of 45 years and his children Jennifer Newton (Michael) and Matthew (Melda). His loving grandchildren, Jack and Kate Newton and Benjamin Chubb affectionately called him Pup. Born and raised in Toronto, son of the late Willis and Pauline and brother Arnold Chubb, survived by his sister Doris. He will be equally missed by his best friends Erwin and Karen Buck and Ken and Carolyn Whiteside. Always a larger then life personality, when not acting as the CFO of MacLaren Advertising and ACLC Advertising, Calvin could be found teeing up a game at his home away from home St. Georges Golf Club, finishing his cryptic crossword puzzle or watching his beloved Blue Jays on TV. Friends are invited to the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W., Etobicoke (between Kipling and Islington Aves.) on Wednesday from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Funeral Service at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church (3962 Bloor St. W., Etobicoke) on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 12 pm. For those who wish, donations appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca

Another icon from our family has moved on to peace and comfort and is no longer suffering. Calvin was an amazing man and we were lucky to have him in our family for as long as we did. He was always there for any of us, always with a good joke and always with a smile. You were loved and will be greatly missed.

Calvin, buddy, I'm going to miss you. I'm heartbroken for the love of your life, Lynda and Jennifer and Matthew, your grandchildren, all the rest of your family and friends. I was so fortunate to have met you and I cherish my happy thoughts of you. Some good laughs for sure. You were a true gentleman and you clearly lived life to the full. You showed us how life was meant to be lived. I loved listening to your brilliant stories. You will never be forgotten. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of being your friend.

Our deepest sympathies to you Lynda, Jennifer, Mathew, and all the grandchildren. From inner-city baseball as kids, to wonderful ski trips to Vail, and good times as neighbours, we will sadly miss Cal's warmth and friendly smile.
