In Celebration of

Bruce Turner

September 4, 1943 - January 3, 2025

In loving memory of Bruce Sydney Turner, it is with great sadness that we announce his peaceful passing at that age of 81 on Friday January 3, 2025.

Beloved husband to Julie (Poce). Loving father to Brett (Cherie), Jesse, Tara (Andrew) and Meghan (Pete). Cherished son of Leonard and Helen Turner (predeceased). Dear brother to Brian (Sue) and brother in law to Frank (Linda) and Karen (Chris). Proudest Papa to Wyatt, Liliah, Leo, Gracie, Grady, Daviy, Jack and Charlie. Special uncle to Miranda (Matthew).

Bruce cherished time with family and friends and was always up for an adventure from his early years in Collingwood at the cottage, dirt bike and go cart racing, boating and diving to eventually settling into his Harley Davidson rides and travelling with Julie. He has always had a keen ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone.

Fondly known as "Troop Turner", he was passionate about bringing people together and seeking out experiences for his family and friends some of which included camping, house boating and biking on the boardwalks. He was game for any outing - festivals, costume parties, dancing, nights at the theatre and of course grandkids’ sporting events and activities - he was always their biggest fan.

No one will forget his attention to detail exemplified in his chronological photo albums, impeccably organized workshop and garage and the “specific instruction” he provided on your every household project.

When Bruce dedicated himself to something he was all in, noted in his long-time service to Bell Canada and his beloved Maple Leafs. He loved all animals and they were drawn to him.

Bruce will be missed deeply and his memory will live on as we recall his wise advice and carry on his passion for bringing us all together.
A sincere thank you to all of the staff at Silverthorn Community for your compassion and care over this last year.

As per Bruce’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. A celebration of life will be held for family and friends in the spring. Condolences on line at www.turnerporter.ca
