In Celebration of

Brian Veeren

March 27, 1978 -  January 1, 2025

Do things for people not because of who they are or what they do in return, but because of who you are. When Harold S. Kushner came up this quote he must have had Brian in mind. Because this describes Brian. Brian never judges who the person is or what he can gain. He just puts himself out to help. Brian would be there for someone to bring hope when all seems hopeless, bring happiness to a friend or relative who is lost in their problems. Brian always made time for his Mom, he would just call to ask how his Mom was doing and if she needed anything. He was a wonderful companion to her. Brian would go out of his way to buy her kitchen devices to make her tasks in the kitchen easier. There was never a task too great for Brian to help or give encouragement. Brian always had the ability to accomplish a task.

At a young age Brian would look after his younger sister, being patient with her, picking her up from school and making sure they both got home safely. Had a personality that worried me as a mother that some people would take advantage of him. Brian had faith, he believed it only takes an act of kindness and caring, to help change a person’s life or an attitude. Brian was not hungry for fame, comfort, wealth or power, he understood how to live his life for meaning and a sense that his life had a purpose. Attractiveness will capture your attention but character will capture your heart. Brian left a legacy that the things you do for yourself are forgotten when you are gone, but the things you do for others will always be remembered and he did leave us with a beautiful legacy of himself.

The person I worry about the most is his son, who he loved immensely. I will ensure his son knows what a great father he had. He will know always how his father would lighten his son’s difficulties and make his life more pleasant. But most of all, his son will remember his experience of what a great love Brian has for his only son.

Brian will be tremendously missed and I am confident that God is pleased with Brian where his purpose in life was an effort made for the happiness of others.

I only wish, that Brian would have been with us a little longer.
