Bohdanna Bybyk

Bohdanna died peacefully, with her family by her side, on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024 at the Ivan Franko Longterm Care Home, at the age of 98. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Wasyl (2008). Loving mother of Nadia (Alex), Martha (Bosko) and predeceased Jaroslaw (2006), survived by his wife Cristeen and her sister Lesya Popyk (Doug). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Stefan (Karen), Yuri (Halyna), Natalia (Steve) and Nestor (Carly), Adrian (Louisiana) and predeceased Deanna (2014)(Dennis); and her great-grandchildren Dragan, Nola, Winslow, Rumi, Mila, David, Adele, Sabrina, Bianca and Brandon; and her friends, as well as family in Ukraine and the United States. A special mention to Taras (Halyna), a relative of Wasyl’s through two generations, and daughter Katrusia. Born in Dobromil, Ukraine, Bohdanna made her way to Toronto as a young adult, where she met and married Wasyl Bybyk. She worked at the Runnymede hospital for many years as they raised their family within the Ukrainian community.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere Ave., east of Jane subway, from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 8th, 2024. Panachida 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Josephat's Ukrainian Church, 143 Franklin St., on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024 at 10 a.m. Interment St. Volodymyr's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Ivan Franko homes or Ukrainian social Services.
