It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Bohdan Kliszcz, aged 81, on September 8, 2025.
Born in the village of Brunary, Poland, Bohdan embarked on a journey that led him to Canada in 1973 to build a new life. A dedicated and skilled tradesperson, Bohdan worked in a variety of roles, including crane operator and maintenance mechanic, before ultimately achieving his dream of owning his own general contracting business.
Bohdan was preceded in death by his wife, Hania, in 2020. He leaves behind his two daughters, Kathy (Marc) and Nadia (Kevin), and his two adored grandchildren, Adam and Maks.
An avid outdoorsman, Bohdan found his greatest joy in fishing, a passion he pursued relentlessly regardless of the season—whether on a boat, through the ice, at the crack of dawn, or in the pitch-black darkness. His many adventures provided him with plenty of "brag worthy" catches and stories that will be retold for years to come.
In his later years, Bohdan was lovingly cared for at the Copernicus Lodge Long-Term Care facility, where he was surrounded by the Polish culture, traditions, and food that were so important to him. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff for their compassionate support in his final years.
A simple man who disliked ceremony, Bohdan requested there be no visitation. A panakhyda will be held at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West, on Wednesday, September 10th, at 3:30pm.
Cremation and a celebration of life will follow at a later date, as per his wishes.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Bohdan's memory by donating to the charity of your choice, either through a monetary gift or by volunteering your time.
