It is with a heavy heart that the family of Bob Adams announces his passing at home in the early morning hours of Tuesday June 24th, 2025. Bob was born in Brockville Ontario to Anne (Cobey) and Al Adams, and grew up in the Mallorytown/Brockville area.
Bob and Laurie (nee Dawson) celebrated 40 years of marriage and a partnership of 44 years. He was a loving and devoted husband + best friend. Bob was Dad to Amy Wysocki (nee Adams) and Cobey Adams, father-in-law to Mike Wysocki and Grandpa to Logan and Troy. He enjoyed every moment with the grandchildren and cherished memories of many family gatherings and events.
Bob and Laurie met in Edmonton Alberta in 1980, and returned to Ontario in 1984. Bob worked for the City of Edmonton with the Grounds + Rec Dept, he moved on to a journeyman drywaller. Upon returning to Ontario he became known as "Drywall Bob". Bob's final place of work was the Toronto Star where he worked nights for 15 years before retiring at age 55. The legacy of the Toronto Star was passed down from his father-in-law, Peter Dawson (deceased) to whom Bob admired dearly.
He had four sisters Janet (Chucky), Janie, Teresa (Red) all predeceased. His youngest sister Cathy continues to reside in western Canada. Bob was a brother-in-law to Gavin and Lisa Dawson, Johnny Andress. The family grew with nieces and nephews as the years went by and Uncle Bob enjoyed sharing in their events and life successes.
Bob loved sports, all sports. He was on many baseball teams, as a child, and in Edmonton and then back in Ontario where great everlasting friendships were generated. He enjoyed golf, and was disappointed when he could no longer swing a club due to illness. He enjoyed a cold Canadian, a shot of Honey Jack, scratch tickets and was a total "meat + potato" lover.
Bob will always be remembered by friends as a "Nice Guy". He was cherished by family who loved him dearly. He will be remembered with fond memories which will be shared for many years. His suffering from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) has come to an end and we are grateful that he is at peace with other loved ones.
