Suddenly in Oakville on Friday November 10 at the age of 90, Bea went peacefully to be with God.

At home now in Heaven with her late husband Eric and her parents Harold and Margaret Chapman Oh the wagging tails of her beloved dogs running to greet her.

Grandchildren: David, Matthew, Stephen, Daniel, Jacob and Benjamin. (and all their spouses). Brother James Chapman (Christine) , Sister in Law Lynnda Burr (Rev Allan Burr)and dear cousins and friend Alberta.

Bea loved following adventures of many great grandchildren, and generations of nieces and nephews as well.

Beatrice was born in Toronto and called it home for the majority of her life, spending her last few years in Oakville, a place not unfamiliar to Chapmans.

Her passions in life were music and dogs and her family. A woman of amazing faith and positivity, prayer was her strength.

Raised in faith by her parents, Beatrice attended Parkdale Baptist Church and participated actively with Baptist Young Peoples Union and Canadian Girls in Training. As a young woman she moved to the suburbs of Etobicoke and joined Kingsway Baptist Church where she was a member for more than 50 years.

Bea had many dear friends at Kingsway Baptist through her devout participation in the choir, her involvement with the seasonal decorating club, assisting with Happy Club and later joining the Diamonds Senior Club herself. Beas love of singing was also expressed through involvement with a Gilbert and Sullivan performance group and as a longtime member of the Etobicoke Centennial Choir. Most recently she enjoyed performing with the After Dinner Mints.

Equally, Bea was passionate about dogs. From rescuing a puppy from an uncaring neighbour as a young girl to having a Lifetime Membership bestowed upon her by Swansea Dog Obedience Club when she was approaching 90 yrs old, her love of dogs was abundant. Beatrice taught obedience classes at the Swansea Club, visited seniors homes and hospitals with the Canine Callers, wo-manned the Raffle Table at the SDOC Obedience Trial and trained several of her dogs to trial in Obedience and Rally. The bins of ribbons and certificates attest to her enthusiasm, dedication and love for her dogs. Bea made many 2 legged friends through her years with SDOC and cherished them as well.

Beatrice was a devout Daughter, easy going Sister, chatty Cousin, fun Aunt, adoring Nana and there are no words adequate to describe the blessing she was as a cherished Mom.

Beatrice had a love for life and was grateful for the time she was given here on earth. No life is without challenge and she met these with dignity and grace and unshakable faith. Her compass was prayer. Prayer for thanksgiving, prayer for strength, prayer for others.
