In Celebration of

Basem Jubrail Khbeis

January 25, 1947 -  November 15, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Basem Jubrail Khbeis, who left us unexpectedly at the age of 78. His departure has brought deep sorrow to all who loved him, and the suddenness of his loss has been especially difficult for his family and friends.

Basem was born in Jerusalem, Palestine, to Jubrail and Martha Khbeis. He grew up in a humble home filled with love, surrounded by his two cherished sisters and four adoring brothers. Even with little in the way of material things, he was rich in the values that shaped his life, family, loyalty, resilience. Those early lessons never left him.

In the late 1960s, Basem arrived in Canada with little more than determination, a few dollars in his pocket and a small suitcase. Guided by a desire to make his family proud, he worked tirelessly, earning his mechanic’s license and eventually rising to an international management position with Bell Canada International. English was his second language, but that never held him back; his work ethic and sharp mind carried him far. He built a life defined by strength, sacrifice, and opportunity, one he lovingly shared with his family.

Basem was married to Randa Khbeis (née Zarour), and together they raised four daughters who were the center of his world: Michelle, Laura, Diana (with son-in-law John), and Carol (with son-in-law Isa). His greatest joy, however, was becoming “Sido” to his grandchildren: Christina, Jordyn, Ty, Eleni, and Johnny. Each one a piece of his heart and a living expression of his legacy.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Turner & Porter – Neweduk Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. West, Mississauga on Saturday November 22, 2025 at 11:35 am -1:30 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 pm at Neweduk Chapel- Turner & Porter.

Interment will follow at Meadowvale Cemetery, 7732 Mavis Rd, Brampton.
