In Celebration of

Barbara May Hodgson

January 24, 1919 -  May 23, 2018

Our mother passed away in her hundredth year, peacefully, in her sleep, with her family by her side. She is deeply missed by son Tom (Laurel) and daughter Deborah (Gabe), grandchildren Gordon (Victoria) and Jacqueline, nieces Susan (David), Barbara (Gildo), Jean (Jerry), Joni (Joe), and Michelle (Domenico) and nephews Greg and Jimmy (Karen).
Born and raised in Toronto, the daughter of Dr. William Sydney Fawns and Elisabeth (nee Christensen), pre-deceased by her two older sisters Mary (McLeod) and Jean (Powell), and her dear niece Sally.
Mom had a great life. A very proud Canadian, she travelled the world, was a ‘champion” bridge player, a rabid Blue Jays fan, and a lover of curling.
She lived a life of great grace and dignity, always gave her best, and brought out the best in those around her. She was always helping others, and inspired her children and grandchildren to always exhibit a generosity of spirit. A life well lived, and that will live on in so many happy and inspiring memories. We are all blessed to have shared in her life, and to remember her ever-present smile and the mischievous twinkle in her eye.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral service, but a private family interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scott Mission in Mom’s memory.

It’s the little things, the small, everyday occurrences that you’ll remember. The laughs, the stories, the smiles. And even though it seems like you can never recover from your loss, it is these very memories that will help push the pain away and bring back the smiles.
