In Celebration of

Barbara (Barica) Popovacki

August 29, 1952 -  February 18, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Barbara (Barica) Popovacki, beloved daughter, wife, mother, Baka, and dear friend, on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in her 73rd year.

Barbara was born in Ivancici, Croatia. She immigrated to Canada at the age of nine in 1961 with her parents, Franjo and Danica Ivicek, beginning a new chapter filled with hope and opportunity.

Barbara married Nick Popovacki in 1973, and together they built a beautiful life. They were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Nicole and Tanya (David). She was a proud and devoted Baka to her cherished grandchildren, Colton and Raine, who were truly the joy of her life.

Barbara enjoyed a long and fulfilling career at CIBC, dedicating over 40 years of service before her retirement. Throughout her career, she formed many lifelong friendships and created countless cherished memories.

A free spirit with a warm and loving heart, Barbara embraced life with grace and kindness. In her spare time, she could be found spending treasured moments with her grandchildren, sewing, reading, dancing, listening to Elvis, or volunteering at Croatian Martyrs Church in Mississauga. She touched many lives with her generosity, laughter, and unwavering love.

Barbara will be deeply loved, profoundly missed, and forever remembered by all whose hearts she touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Barbara (Barica) Popovacki to the Diabetes Foundation of Canada.

Visiation will be held at Turner & Porter "Peel Chapel", 2180 Hurontario St., Missisuaga, on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 3p.m-7p.m. A Funeral Service at Croatian Martyrs Parish, 4605 Mississauga Rd, is to follow on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 10a.m. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
