In Celebration of

Augusta Favret

October 22, 1922 -  March 21, 2026

It is with deep sadness that the family of Augusta Favret announces her passing on March 21, 2026, at home in Mississauga, Ontario, at the age of 103, surrounded by her loved ones. Born Augusta Bomben on October 22, 1922 in Zoppola, Italy, she was the second of nine children of Lucia and Giovanni Bomben. Augusta married Vittorio Favret in December 1950, immediately immigrated to Argentina, and in 1951 her only child Luisa was born. The small family immigrated to Toronto in 1956. Augusta was widowed in August 1963 and then worked as a seamstress for many years. Her most important work was helping to raise her grandchildren Andrew, Victor, and Elise.

Augusta is lovingly remembered by her daughter Luisa (Mario), grandchildren Andrew (Krista), Victor (Cynthia), Elise, (Lukasz), and great-grandchildren Noah, Gabriel, Rose, Nathan, Charlotte, Juliette, Elaina, Sophie, and Anne.

Nonna 'Tina was fondly recognized as Nonna to everyone she knew. She lived a life of strong faith and service to her family. She led by example, always having patience to play with a child, sit with a sick family member, or help in any way she was able. She continued on in this hard work until in her late 90s, she was forced to use a walker. Her strong Catholic faith, developed in her youth through times of depression and war, two immigrations, and an unexpected life as a widowed single mother, continued to bring her peace and comfort until her last days.

Visitations will be held at Turner and Porter "Peel Chapel", 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga ON, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 6:00pm-8:00pm, as well as Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm, with prayers at 7:00pm on Thursday evening.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 12:00pm at Christ the King Parish, 3674 Lake Shore Blvd., Etobicoke ON, M8W 1N6, with an interment to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 2099 Dickson Rd., Mississauga ON, L5B 1Y6.
