In Celebration of

Arthur G. MacKay

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur MacKay on May 2nd, 2017, at Wesburn Manor. He is survived by his loving wife, best friend and constant companion Carol (nee Jamieson), daughter Heather Hamilton and son Donald. Much loved Grandpa and Poppa to Jeffrey, Andrew, and Emily Hamilton, and to Jaclyn and Jordyn MacKay. Also survived by his brother Jim MacKay (Vera), and sister Wanda Carney of Seattle, as well as many nieces and nephews. Art grew up in Cabbagetown and went on to have a 45 year career with Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company. He was greatly admired by friends and colleagues as an honest, kind, generous, and sincere person. He was a family man, a proud father, loving grandfather, and Carol's biggest fan. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank all of his caregivers at Wesburn Manor and Trillium Health Centre: Surgical Clinic. A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of Christ the King Anglican, 475 Rathburn Rd., Etobicoke (just west of Hwy 427), on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at 11 a.m., with visitation from 10:15 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Church of Christ the King or to the Last Post Fund, www.lastpostfund.ca. Online condolences can be made at turnerporter.ca.

Wayne Maxwell (Friend and work associate (Ombudservice))

Entered May 16, 2017 from Richmond Hill

Art was a good friend while I was at the Ombudservice. I was always amazed at how young he looked and how young he was in spirit. My condolences.

It is very comforting to know that his spirit lives on in Heaven and that we will meet again.

Cathie Dowell (Mutual of Omaha work colleague)

I was sorry to hear of Art's passing. I knew Art from the Mutual of Omaha days and living in the same neighborhood would occasionally see him at the grocery store. My deepest sympathy to all his family.

I was very sorry to hear of Art's passing. He was my boss for many years at Mutual of Omaha. He was an excellent manager and a fine mentor to all of the claims department people. He will be missed. My condolences to you Carol and your family.
