In Celebration of

Arleen Anna Mae Furgala

June 14, 1926 -  October 18, 2016

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, at the age of 90. Loving wife of the late Michael (2011) for 63 years. Beloved mother of Susan Page (Stewart), Patrick (Teresa), Joan Hope, Gregory (Kathy). Adored grandmother of Laura (Keith), Rosamonde, Lindsay (Jeffrey), Erin, Tamara, Christopher, Mark, Alexander, and Nicole. Loved great-grandmother of Jack and Benjamin. Dear sister of Mary Claire and Bob, predeceased by brother Bud. Born in Thunder Bay, she settled with Michael in Toronto to raise their family. She delighted in traditional holiday gatherings and attending special events with her grandkids. She loved having family with her at the summer cottage up north and the Florida condo. She shared the adventure of travelling the world. An example to us all, she worked to enrich her community through volunteer work especially with the William Osler Hospital Auxillary (for 50 years). We will treasure the memory of her zest for life. To honor Arleen, light up someone's day with your smile! Special thanks to Dr. Vincent Ki and Wendy Clarke of the Credit Valley Hospital Nephrology Clinic and to the compassionate staff of 1D and the Palliative Care Unit at CVH. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Neweduk-Erin Mills” Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga (just east of Erin Mills Pkwy) on Saturday from 3-7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. In memory of Arleen donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the Credit Valley Hospital Foundation.

You mom's obituary brought back a flood of memories from St. Benedict's Parish and school. Time may separate us but the memories continue to bind our lives together. I will offer a Mass today, Friday October 21, for Arleen. May she rest in peace. Amen! Monsignor Paul
