In Celebration of

Antonios (Tony) Tsakopoulos

November 26, 1947 -  September 21, 2022

With deepest sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Antonios (Tony) Tsakopoulos. Tony passed away peacefully, at home with his adoring family by his side on Wednesday September 21, 2022 at the age of 74.

Beloved husband of 45 years to Marina. Loving father of Gregory (Alexandra), Tina (Matthew), George (Meredyth) and William (Caitlin). Adored Pappou to Franco, Marina, Lily, Penny and Zoe. Tony was predeceased by parents Gregory and Dina and his dear brother Alex and sister Toula.

Tony was born in Nestani, Arcadia, Greece and emigrated to Canada in 1964 to seek a better life. Nothing came easily for Tony, but through his ceaseless hard work and determination, Tony built a life for himself and his family; always putting their needs above all else. Even in his final days, Tony was more concerned with their well-being than his own. Tony achieved many successes in life, including establishing and growing a prominent company - Brothers Plumbing - for almost 50 years. However, he was most proud of his family and their accomplishments.

Though Tony embraced life in Canada, and the opportunities it afforded his family he always kept his Greek heritage in his heart and made regular trips back to visit friends and family.

He will be missed for his caring nature, his dry sense of humor and appreciation of good food. He will always be a cherished part of our family and remain in our hearts forever.

The family would like to thank Princess Margaret Hospital and Doctors and nurses of the Dorothy Ley Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

Family and friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W, Toronto, ON, M6S 1P4. Sunday, September 25th, 2022 from 4-8pm.

Funeral Mass to be held at the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 136 Sorauren Avenue on Monday, September 26th, 2022 at 11 a.m.

Interment Beechwood Cemetery.

If desired, donations may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
