In Celebration of

Antonio Pagnetti

July 11, 1932 -  February 19, 2021

Antonio Pagnetti passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital on Friday, February 19th, 2021 surrounded by his wife of 65 years, Maria, and his loving daughters Anna Pucci and Stefania Fabbri. Antonio was 88 years old.

Dear father-in-law to Joseph Pucci and Leonard Fabbri Sr. and extraordinary grandfather to his four grandsons, Leonard Jr., Anthony, Robert and Andrew. Survived by his sisters and many nieces and nephews in Italy. Predeceased by his parents, Domenico and Fermina Pagnetti. He will be deeply missed by his extended family and many friends.

Antonio was born in Italy on July 11, 1932 where he married the love of his life, Maria, on January 12, 1956. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 and settled in Sault Ste. Marie. Maria followed him in April 1958 and together, they worked tirelessly to provide a better life for their family. Education was of utmost importance to Antonio and he made sure his daughters had every opportunity possible.

Antonio was also very proud of his tenure at Algoma Steel where he worked for 33 years as a stationary engineer.

Antonio adored his four grandsons and his greatest pleasure was watching and cheering them on at their many sporting events or catching them stealing peas from his amazing vegetable garden. He was an avid gardener and spent hours outside. He was also very proud of his homemade wine and delicious sausages and prosciutto.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Credit Valley Hospital. Thank you to all our friends and family for your incredible outpouring of help and support.

Due to the current restrictions, a private family service will be held. Interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.

For those who wish, donations may be made to Credit Valley Hospital thru Trillium Health Partners Foundation.
