In Celebration of

Anthony (Antanas) Ulba

July 27, 1922 -  September 17, 2023

Antanas (Anthony) Ulba passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023, at Labdara Lithuanian Nursing Home in Toronto at the age of 101. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Regina (deceased). Lovingly remembered by his children Ramona (Henry), Loretta (John) and Rimas (Cynthia). Antanas’s nine grandchildren brought him much pride and joy: Aleksa (Scott), Audra (Ryan), Emilia (Steve), Tomas (Bobbie), Daniel (Roxana), Krista (Perry), David, Justin (Stephanie) and Brianna (Jake). Tukas, to his many great grandchildren, was always there for hugs and kisses. Fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Algis (Barbara) and his nieces and nephews.

Antanas was born in a small village in Lithuania and came to Canada as a refugee at the end of the second world war. He spent several years working in mines in Northern Ontario as he and Regina started their young family, before moving to Toronto. He studied accounting and spent many years as accounting manager at De Leuw Cather. Antanas and Regina were involved in the Lithuanian community at Resurrection Parish where they volunteered and made many lifelong friends.

Antanas enjoyed relaxing with Regina at their cottage in Skerryvore on Georgian Bay. A talented artist, he spent time painting and later in life singing with the Labdara Choir.

Many thanks to all the care givers and staff at Labdara for their kindness and compassion shown during his time at the nursing home.

The funeral mass for Antanas will be Saturday October 28, 2023, at 11:00 am at The Resurrection Parish Church, 1 Resurrection Rd. Etobicoke.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Labdara Lithuanian Nursing Home or The Resurrection Lithuanian Parish in Toronto, would be appreciated.
