In Celebration of

Anne Prodanyk

March 4, 1924 -  March 5, 2019

Anne Prodanyk passed away peacefully Tuesday March 5, 2019 a day after her 95th birthday with her grandchildren by her side. Beloved wife of Andrew Diak (1960) and Myron Prodanyk (1981), Loving mother of Nicholas Diak (Aleli) and Lois Mostow (deceased, Dec. 7, 2013) Grandmother to Lara Oulahen (Mark) ,Natasha Diak (Sasha) , Paul Milton (Cheryl), Michael Valance (Mary), Zachary DeBuono and her 6 great grandchildren.

Anne left her homeland of Ukraine at the age of 14 and lived through many challenges and adventures. She started a family, cared for a sick child in a world that didn’t understand his illness. She buried 2 husbands and 1 daughter. She was fiercely independent, stubborn, tender and always showed us how much she loved us with food. Anne was recognized for her years of service at Osgoode Hall and was a steady volunteer at St. Mary's Cathedral where she made many lasting friendships. Anne was skilled at Ukrainian embroidery, made the best varenyky, and proudly shared the Ukrainian culture with her growing family. She was a strong and spirited person with an infectious sense of humour. Her courage and determination served her well in her long life. She lived her last years in her condo with her dear friend Catherine Garbowsky. She will be missed and forever in our hearts.
