In Celebration of

Anne Marie Curran

July 21, 1944 -  February 1, 2018

Peacefully, with her family by her side, on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at the Village of Humber Heights, at the age of 73. Proud daughter of Maurice and Irene Lodge and sister to Cathy (Jim). Beloved wife of Robert for 48 years. Cherished mother of Maureen (Todd) and Lisa (Greg). Adoring Nana of Evan, Finian, Violet, Betty and Mimi. Her life was one of caring for others, both in her family and in her varied career as a social worker, ending with 15 great years as manager of the Employment and Training Centre, St. Stephen’s Community House. She went out of her way to help others whenever she saw a need and her energy and enthusiasm often worked wonders.

Thanks to Claudia, Karen, and the other home caregivers plus the many people at St. Joseph’s Health Centre who helped us through a difficult last year and to the caring staff on Brule neighbourhood, LTC, Village of Humber Heights who helped her through her final days. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. If desired, remembrances may be made to Daily Bread Food Bank or to Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto.

I am so saddened by the passing of Anne-Marie. She was such a dedicated manager of SSCH Employment and Training Centre and a valued member of the House management team. She cared deeply about the youth and other vulnerable people who came to us for support. She also cared about the staff team she worked with and was a den mother as much as she was their manager. Her quirky sense of humour, her compassion, and love for her family, St Stephen's clients and her colleagues, will be missed. She left this world a better place. My sincere condolences to Bob and their daughters - who she was so proud of - and her grandchildren.

A truly lovely, caring and wonderful person. Doug and I have many fond memories of lots of family gatherings that she and Bob hosted. She most definitely helped wherever she could and clearly sparkled when it came to anything family. She will be missed by many.
