In Celebration of

Anne Karlsson

April 16, 1921 -  September 23, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anne Karlsson (nee Janz) on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in her 97th year at Trillium Health Partners-Mississauga Hospital. Darling mother of Sherrilyn (Peter) Sklar. Dear grandmother to Anne Marie Sklar, Catherine (Duane) Sklar-MacDonald and beloved Great-Grandmother to Lucy Gwen and Gavin Peter. Anne was one of 14 children and is survived by her sisters Lillian and Hazel and her brothers Jim and Ron. Anne was an avid sports fan of both the Toronto Maple leafs and Toronto Blue Jays – seldom missing a televised game. She will be sadly missed. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the excellent care lovingly given to Anne by the staff at the Tyndall Retirement Residence for the past 13 years, who became part of Anne’s family. Heartfelt appreciation to the psychiatric team at Trillium’s Seniors Mental Health over the past 13 years. Thank you to the palliative team at Trillium for their recent compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Trillium Palliative Nursing Team at the Mississauga Hospital or a charity of your choice. Visitation followed by a Service and Reception takes place on Thursday September 28th at 11:00 AM – Turner and Porter “Peel Chapel” 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, ON.

My condolences. Anne certainly lived a long life. You were fortunate to have her near you for so many years.

We are thinking of you during this difficult time. Although we only met GG a few times poolside. We were glad to have met her and to have experienced her great sense of humour.

Auntie Anne was very dear to me always, we seemed to be akin in many ways, loved the twinkle in her eye, her humor, her spirit. She may be an angel now but her spirit lives on in our hearts forever. What a wonderful gift life gave us.

How lucky I was to share my life with such a special person, my sister Anne. Our memories will forever be ingrained of our last visit in June. I will miss the giggles over the phone but I will cherish the memories forever. Rest In Peace.
