In Celebration of

Anna Starkiewicz

April 27, 1925 -  January 14, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna in her 96th year. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Kazimierz, with whom she was married for 63 happy years, her parents Jan and Bronislawa, and her brothers Joseph and Chester. Loving mother of Mary and her husband Edward Ramsay, and Jean and her husband Andre Pucyk. Proud Babcia of Alanna and her husband Robert, Jessica and her partner Kevin, James and his wife Amber, David and his wife Mary, and Daniel. Proud Great Babcia of Kylie and Lauren.

Anna was born in Naliboki, Poland . Displaced in the course of WW2, she bravely emigrated on her own to Canada in 1948, which she embraced and proceeded to sponsor the rest of her family to join her. She met Kazimierz shortly thereafter and they married in 1951. Anna was a wonderful wife and mother who worked hard to do what was needed to support her family. She was a woman of great inner strength and resolve, strongly embracing her Catholic faith throughout her life.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of 1 South at Copernicus Lodge, and in particular Dr. Clement and Carmen Miller, for the dignity, respect and kindness shown to her in her final years.

In light of COVID restrictions, there will be a small private funeral attended by immediate family only. Please visit www.turnerporter.ca for online condolences and some fond memories of Anna. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made to Copernicus Lodge.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of your mother. What an exceptional woman she was, and how proud you must have been of her.

May her soul join with her dear husband, and rest in peace, forever.

There's so many things I wanted to thank you for. Thanks for the sewing machine, and letting me use it when I was young all the time.It is my refuge and meditative escape now and a useful one as well. Just rest in peace, Mom....love you forever. Miss you too forever.
