In Celebration of

Anna Lopez

August 4, 1985 -  June 22, 2017

Mrs. Anna Patricia Lopez suddenly and tragically died on the longest day of the year, 2017, at home in Toronto, Canada. Anna Patricia Lopez was born in San Juan, Rizal, the Philippines, child of Edwin Santiago and Melinda Vinuya on the 4th day of August 1985 and she was solemnly baptized at The National Shrine of St. Michael and Archangels San Miguel, Manila according to the Rites of the Roman Catholic Church. Her godparents were Ludy dela Cruz, Rene Taroy, Elizer Sabido and Rowena Vinuya . The Santiagos moved to Canada in 1988.
Anna P. is an artistic and righteous person who was devout and loved all of life. She is a precious gift from God. She loved God and all creation. She graduated from McMaster University with a BA degree and attended James Culnan Catholic School and Loretto Abbey Catholic Secondary School. She is a musician who took violin, piano, guitar, drums, voice and dance lessons. She loved to paint, draw, colour, read, and especially, write. She worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Chair at the School of Apprenticeship and Skilled Trades at George Brown College. She also helped at the School of Engineering Technologies & Architectural Studies at George Brown. She really enjoyed helping the staff and students in the excellent community and family at the College. In previous endeavours, she made many close friends in client management and sales at Research Now and Asking Canadians. In June 2013, Anna completed her Camino to Santiago de Compostella. Anna loved to ski, cycle, hike, swim and snorkel, and to do photography, do yoga and do tea (bubbles, macha, green apple, mango milk tea...). Aside from her great appreciation for music, films and books, she absolutely loved to travel and experience the world around her. She loved poetry and wrote beauty. (See her smile.)
Our beloved Anna is survived by her loving husband Lucas P. Lopez, her mother and father, Melinda and Edwin Santiago; her brother John Patrick Santiago; her maternal grandmother Nanay Tita, her Uncle Ajun, Tita Risa and Tita Ena, and cousins Anaris, Mike, Martin and Lean, Rev. Joji, numerous Titos and Titas, Great Uncle Jerry Carter and Uncle Kevin, and by her fuzzy and sophisticated sister Molly Santiago and our fuzzy little boy Bobby Ray Lopez. She is also loved by all her in-laws and especially by her mother-and-father-in- law, Celia Elena and Miguel Lopez, and Matthew, Ana Sofia, and Raquel.
She is preceded in Heaven by maternal grandfather Tatay Valentino Vinuya, Lolo Nano and Lola Sete Santiago, Auntie Baby and Auntie Zel.

Thank you to the Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel team for hosting the Visitation this past Sunday, June 25th.
Special Thanks to Rev. Father Nino Cavoto for giving God's Blessing to Anna and praying a beautiful mass of Remembrance at our parish, Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church on Monday June 26th, 2017.
Vaya con Dios. Love. God Bless Anna.
Rest in Peace.
