In Celebration of

Andrea O'Connor

November 30, 1954 -  March 25, 2018

Passed away peacefully at Dorothy Ley Hospice on Sunday, March 25, 2018. Beloved wife of Patrick. Loving mother of Ryan, Luke and the late Shannon. Dear sister of Beth Rosborough, Jody Rosborough and Jim Rosborough (Louise). Sister-in-law of Regis (Joanne) O’Connor, late Rosemary O’Connor and Jim Fraser , Sharon O’Connor (Ron Watters), Tom (Elizabeth Meakes), John (late Diane), Kathleen (Doug Holmes) and Dan (Cheryl). Andrea will also be missed by all her nieces, nephews and godchildren.

Andrea was born in Témiscaming, Quebec in 1954 where she attended school and enjoyed spending time at the cottage with her family. They moved to Montreal where she obtained her nursing degree. She then moved to Toronto, where she worked and taught in nursing. She met her soulmate Patrick, and married in 1980. Having Ryan, Shannon and Luke, they enjoyed summers at their Haliburton cottage. Her career changed when she became a high school teacher, where she spent 20 years at St. Joeseph’s College Catholic school. She then enjoyed giving the gift of education and helping out in the union. She loved music, was an avid reader, enjoyed food, travel, watching movies with the family and taking walks in High park with her husband and Jack, their dog. She fought a long battle with ovarian cancer, and was cared for by her husband and family. She spent her final days at the Dorothy Ley Hospice. If desired, donations to Dorothy Ley Hospice in Andrea's honour would be appreciated.

It is with a hard heart that I write these words. Your passing Andrea was far too soon. How very, very short and fragile life is. Moments like this force us to think and ponder on our own lives and to embrace those around us. My thoughts right now are with your dear family, friends and colleagues who, like I, will miss you. Prayers and sincere condolences.
