In Celebration of

Alma Cercado

August 2, 1949 -  September 22, 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Almabella Cercado, who left us peacefully on September 22, 2025, at Credit Valley Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Alma fought a long and courageous 25-year battle with breast cancer, and her strength and grace throughout will forever inspire those who knew her.

Born in Pangasinan, Philippines, Alma moved to Canada in 1972 and built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family.

She was one of nine children of Francisco Juan de Vera Sr. and Rosalia Quinto de Vera, and a beloved sister to Teodora (Raymundo), Estrella (Anastacio), Francisco Jr. (Consuelo), Romeo (Zosima), Ernesto (Valentine), Fernando (Angelita), Angelita (Roberto), and Arnel (Marilyn).

Alma was the cherished wife of Herman for 51 years, a devoted mother to Margarita (Hiro) and Matthew (Candace), and a proud Lola to Reyna, Gavin, Rosalie, and Elizabeth.

Her calm presence, radiant spirit, and genuine kindness touched everyone she met. She was a fashion icon to many of her nieces and coworkers, and she loved getting dressed up and expressing her unique sense of style. As she would say, “Wear what makes you happy. If you look good, you feel good!”

Alma’s legacy as a cancer warrior and beacon of hope will live on in the hearts of those she loved and inspired.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CIBC Run for the Cure Donate - CIBC Run for the Cure #WEARESTRONGERTOGETHER for Alma’s daughter and her family in support of Breast Cancer research. Please click on donation tab below to donate.

She will be deeply missed.
