In Celebration of

Alicja Kusmierek

July 18, 1942 -  January 14, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Alicja Kusmierek announces her passing at Michael Garron Hospital, Toronto on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the age of 79.

She was the loving mother of Andrzej and Babcia to her two dear grandsons Sebastian and Filip.

She was born in 1942 in Dubno (Kresy) and lived in Legnica and later Wroclaw, where she studied and started a family. She came to Canada in 1989 and started working for RBC Insurance shortly after, providing services to the Polish community. Never retired, active to the very end, always ready to help. Alicja never complained, always focused on the bright side of everything her life brought her.

Alicja lived her life close to God, her Polish roots, culture and tradition, and made sure to pass on this heritage onto her son and her beloved grandsons. She lived her life to the fullest until the very end.

She left us unexpectedly but her candle will continue to light up our hearts.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane subway, on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Casimir’s Church, 156 Roncesvalles Ave., on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 10 a.m. Rosary prayers at the church at 9:30 a.m. Interment at Christ the King Cemetery, Markham. All guest must register to attend the visitation and mass. (link to come).

We always had stimulating conversations which led to great ideas and ways in which we can jointly help people. She will be greatly.missed and never forgotten in our home.
