In Celebration of

Alan McKenzie

June 16, 1949 -  March 23, 2020

Alan left this world at the age of 70 to join Margaret (May 25, 2015), the love of his life on Monday, March 23, 2020, due to complications of cancer. Survived by step children Stephen Hayden (Jackie), Lorraine Hayden (Chris Quinlan) and his beloved grandsons Jack and Sam Hayden. He will be sadly missed by many extended family members and friends. Alan ran a busy painting and decorating business in the Kingsway area, and his clients adored him. A good man has been taken from us. Alan and Margaret were a terrific double act, they may be gone from us in sight but never from our memories. Alan will always be remembered for being a wonderful step dad, grandfather and friend to many. With his easy smile and genuine interest in others Alan made everyone feel welcome. He had a sparkle in his eyes and was always upbeat and positive. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland and was a true Rangers fan till the end. He played a mean game of soccer in his day and was always a loyal fan. He enjoyed all that was Scottish including a good round of golf. He enjoyed a Guinness or two with his friends at Gabby's. He cherished his friendships and the laughs that came with them. He was our "Brave heart". He will be missed dearly. It's our wits that make us men.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, when we are able to share our many memories of Alan’s life.

To the greatest father in law I could ever ask for. Thank you for making our lives better, you were a great man. You were my friend, a great listener, and so supportive. We will miss you forever. My family (The Leane's) will miss your presence at all of our family gatherings. Rest in Peace with Margaret.
Till we meet again, my love.
