Our dearest Adrienne Evelyn Walpert, age 31, passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2017 at her home in The Beaches, Toronto. Adrienne has finally found peace after a long battle with chronic pain and mental illness. She leaves behind her parents, Maire (nee McIlraith) and Franz Walpert of Sudbury, Ontario; her sisters Rachel, Yvette and Michelle; her grandparents the late John McIlraith and Sheila (nee McArthur) of Etobicoke, Ontario and the late Anthony and Katharina Walpert (nee Schädeli) of Basel, Switzerland; her aunties Julia McIlraith and Ursula (Ard); her uncles Angus (Maureen), Ewen (Fiona) and Tony (Suzanne); as well as her many beloved cousins Andrea (Paul), Roland (Nichole), Gabrielle, Fergus, Gaynor, Jack and Morgan. Adrienne has also left behind many friends whom she touched with her vivacious and loving personality including those with Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, the Swiss Club of Toronto, those she kayaked with at Ashbridges Bay and the Canadian Parapan Am team whom she had the honour of leading into the 2015 games in Toronto.
Adrienne was an accomplished person, having earned a B.A. Honours in International Business & Politics from the University of Toronto. She was also recognized as gifted in many areas including writing, art and poetry and was inspired by and passionate about astrology. Additionally, Adrienne was a model for The Izzy Camilleri Adaptive Clothing Collection, an advocate for persons with spinal cord injuries and a volunteer at the Toronto Crisis Centre.
She will be dearly missed by her family as well as those touched by her free spirit. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to sashbear.org which advocates for those suffering from and affected by Borderline Personality Disorder. A private service will be held by the family to honour Adrienne.
