Barretto, Annie (née Gracias) passed away on January 7, 2026 at the age of 93, surrounded by her four children, after a long and courageous journey with Alzheimer’s Disease, at The Village of Erin Meadows, Mississauga, ON.

Wife of the late Andrew Valu Barretto, daughter of the late Juanita Gracias and the late Charles Gracias and daughter-in-law of the late Netty Barretto. She is survived by her four beloved children: Sandra, Paul, Yvette and Alfred, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Riel and Antoine. She leaves behind her sister, Irene and numerous nieces and nephews.

Annie was a dedicated teacher and known for her love of baking, cake decorating, cooking, dancing, badminton, field hockey and artistry.

The Barretto family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Village of Erin Meadows for their long-term commitment, care and love shown to their mother. The family would like to thank the Lay Pastoral Care Ministry and the Priests of Merciful Redeemer Church for administering to their mother, as well as the Prayer Warriors of St. Joseph Church for their prayers and support. They would like to thank the Alzheimer's Society of Peel for their counsel, support and care. The family would also like to thank the numerous caregivers that provided home support and Dr. P Dang, Dr. Chandrakumar and Dr. Persaud.
