In Celebration of

ANDRIUS “ANDY” TOMAS KAROSAS

May 10, 1968 -  September 5, 2025

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Andrius “Andy” Karosas on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the age of 57. Andy was a devoted husband of 31 years to Meredith and a loving father to Bryanne, AJ, and Jack.
Andy is survived by his loving mother, Valerija, and was predeceased by his father, Donatas (2017). He will be forever cherished by his siblings Rima (Marcel), Urbanc, Gintaras (Karin), Laima (Vincent) Laffitte, and Paul. He was also predeceased by Meredith’s mother Elizabeth Warton (2019). Andy will be deeply missed by father-in-law Brian Warton and sisters-in-law Michele and Melissa who embraced Andy as one of their own. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will hold his memory close to their hearts.
Andy will always be remembered for his big smile, his kindness, and his unforgettable hugs. He dedicated his life to building lasting friendships through his 32 years of work at Encore, his involvement in the Lithuanian community and the countless hours spent supporting his children’s activities. Some of his happiest moments were as Bryanne’s dance dad and as AJ and Jack’s baseball coach. No matter where he went, Andy left people better for having known him. His legacy of love, encouragement, and joy will live on in everyone who had the privilege of knowing him– especially his closest friends.
The Karosas family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Credit Valley Hospital and Juravinski Cancer Centre for their compassionate care and support throughout Andy’s illness.
A private family funeral will take place in the coming days. Later in October, Meredith, Bryanne, AJ, and Jack will host a Celebration of Andy’s Life, where they warmly invite all who knew and loved him to join. Details to be shared soon.
Though Andy was taken from us far too soon, his love, laughter, and spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations in Andy’s memory to Trillium Health Partners or Juravinski Cancer Centre.

Andy was always a kind and cheerful person. He would always say hello with a smile and a wave if we saw him working in the garage. My family and I will miss seeing him around the neighbourhood. May he rest in peace ❤️

Andy began his career in 1993 as an AV Technician at the Royal York Hotel. From those early days, it was clear that Andy had a passion for excellence and a dedication to his craft that set him apart. Over the years, he played a vital role in countless corporate events across the city, always bringing professionalism, ingenuity, and an unshakable calm under pressure.
His talent and leadership were quickly recognized, and he was promoted to Technical Services Manager, where he brought his expertise to a number of iconic venues including the Westin Harbour Castle, the Omni King Edward Hotel, the Holiday Inn Downtown (now Chestnut Residence and Conference Centre), the Regal Constellation Hotel (closed in 2003) and the Inn on the Park (closed in 2005).
In 1997, Andy took on the role of Event Manager—a position in which he thrived. He became a key contributor to the success of numerous high-profile and large-scale events, and his impact was felt far and wide by clients and colleagues alike.
Andy’s 32-year career spanned not only roles and venues, but also many evolutions of the organization itself. He witnessed and adapted to the many name changes—from ADCOM Presentation Group (APG), to CORPAV, TELAV, AVW-TELAV, Freeman AV Canada, and finally, Encore. Through it all, Andy remained a constant trusted presence and a valued leader. On September 2, 2023, he proudly celebrated 30 years of service.
I had the privilege of working closely with Andy since 2012. He was my direct report until the spring of 2023, and in that time, he became much more than a colleague—he became a friend. His passing is a shock, and it is truly heartbreaking.
Andy was not only an incredible professional, but he was also a devoted husband, a proud father, and a kind, generous human being. His loss leaves a deep void in our team and in our hearts. His legacy will live on through the memories we hold dear and the lasting impact he made throughout his remarkable career.
Rest in peace, Andy. You will be deeply missed.
